This weekend felt like a big moment.

Saturday night was our first PAGAN USA holiday event. For a lot of people in the surf club, it was the first time hanging out face to face. Not in the water. Not on Instagram. Just real conversations.

While pulling surf clips from the last 2 years, I ran the numbers. We’ve worked one-on-one with close to 80 people through surfboards and coaching. Between camps and virtual work, over 350 people total. That’s still wild to sit with.

Around 50 people showed up. Most in the “intermediate surfing” range. Full-time jobs. Families. No bro deals. Not pro surfers. Just people choosing to invest in their surfing.

Imo the future of surfing.

This is why the surf club started 2 years ago. Community. Friendship. Progression. None of it came from one big moment. It came from small ones stacked over time.

Yesterday itsdiegomendes texted me:
“Dude. Hit the lip twice today. Best turns I’ve ever done.”

He started with us on an 8-foot soft top in March. Now he’s riding a performance board and turning.

It felt like a parallel to building the surf club. Small, consistent moments over time compounding into the goal you set.

Learning to be present in every moment, big or small has been the best lesson.
